- Scope of the tool

Since July 31, 2024, the Quebec Enterprise Registrar has allowed searches by first and last name, a tool that changes the practical transparency of the register.

## New at the Enterprise Registrar

Since July 31, 2024, it is possible to search by last and first name at the Quebec Enterprise Registrar.

By entering a person's name, you can see which entities they are associated with in Quebec, whether as a shareholder, officer, director or ultimate beneficiary.

## Accuracy required

For the search to work, the last and first names must be spelled exactly. If an accent or a middle name is missing, the search will not detect the business the person is associated with.

## Limits of the tool

Birth dates are not displayed, and it is not possible to specify a date of birth to filter the search. So if two people have the same first and last name, they cannot be distinguished other than by the declared residential address (unless a business address is declared to hide the residential address).

## Scope of the tool

This search tool applies to incorporated companies, but also to any other entity registered with the registrar, including sole proprietorships, non-profit organizations, partnerships and commercial trusts.
